On the 8th and 9th of October 2011, some 14,000 people took part in the 2011 TOHOKU KIDS EXPO, which offered more than 50 different events, including toy attractions, as well as sports and entertainment activities. Planned and executed by an executive committee composed of Sendai University, the Japan Toy Association and the township of Shibata-Machi, the special EXPO sought and succeeded in bringing back the joy and happiness that may have been lost by the children who survived the Great East Japan Earthquake. The film presentation* captures the magic and wonder of the two-day event. *This film was produced by a team of volunteer university students who carried out the project’s planning, research and shooting despite the fact that no team member had any previous filmmaking experience. While it was edited and finalized by professionals in the field, their role was kept to an absolute minimum. On behalf of “May Tomorrow Make Us Smile!” Film Production Team, we wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who was involved in the project. Trias Corporation
